Grapes
September 14th, 2007 | by IngridOur micro-mini backyard vineyard yielded bags of sweet delicious red seeded berries. Fresh grapes are among the most nutritionally complete of fruits supplying us with nutrients - antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, beneficial compounds called flavonoids, easily digestible sugars, and endowed with cleansing curative properties.
When choosing grapes off the vine, from a farmer’s market or grocery store, look for organic, plump, well-colored fruit firmly attached to their stems.
Grapes keep stored in the refrigerator up to a week. When ready for use, wash grapes thoroughly and blot dry. Enjoy as a portable bite-size snack or show them off in salads, main dishes, and desserts.
